Dylan "sang only a song and a half before canceling his concert ... [Promotor Nick] Topping told the crowd that the sound system, 'isn't up to our artist's standards or our own contractual standards' ... Dylan asked his fans to 'come up on the stage.' When they did ... the sound set-up gave out, emitting squawks and whines. [Dylan] retired to his dressing room ... 'I have to catch a plane back to New York', he said. 'I'm not going to make a fool out of myself. I have a reputation to maintain, and I'm doing what my instincts tell me to do.'" (The Milwaukee Journal, Nov 22, 1964)
