I wrote this song for a man who worked for the Village Voice newspaper, back in 1963. You know he's still working there. (before Ballad Of A Thin Man)
Thank you. Here's a song I recorded a few years ago with The Band on an album called Planet Waves. You all remember The Band? Anyway, we're gonna take a short break now. (before Going, Going, Gone)
Thank you. On the drums tonight, give him a warm welcome, Mr. Ian Wallace. All right, on bass guitar Mr. Jerry Scheff. On the keyboards from Elizabeth, New Jersey, Alan Pasqua. On electric lead guitar, I don't really know where he's from, but give him a warm welcome anyway ! Brilliant guitar player, dangerous Billy Cross. Now on the rhythm guitar from Babylon, Long Island. Mr. Steve Soles. All right on violin, mandolin and electric lead guitar, a young man. Youngest member of the group. Doesn't smoke dope, or go out with women, or drink whiskey. That's why he's so good, David Mansfield. Steve Douglas on the tenor saxophone. On the backup vocals tonight, a very good friend of mine, on the right, Jo Ann Harris. On the left, my fiancée, Carolyn Dennis. Wishful thinking! And in the middle, the great Helena Springs. On the conga drums, from Detroit Miss Bobbye Hall. I wrote this in New York City back in '63 called, It's Alright Ma, I'm Only Bleeding.
All right, this is a little song I wrote on a train ride from Monterrey, Mexico to, Chihuahua. Anyway, this train was going to San Diego. I wrote this all on the train. (before Señor (Tales Of Yankee Power))
All right thank you very much. We’re gonna be going now, move on down the line. But I hope we played a few things right. Anyway, here’s a song I also recorded with The Band a few years back on an album called Planet Waves. All right, until we meet again, y’all take care, be safe. (before Forever Young)
Make sure to state after (or during) which song the words are spoken.
